3. Verb to be: Questions – Fill in the blanks with is, am or are and then answer the questions

• PERSONAL PRONOUNS

Singular (เอกพจน์)	I, you, he, she, it
Plural (พหูพจน์)	we, you, they

I —> จะเป็นตัวใหญ่เสมอ
you —> ใช้ได้ทั้งเอกพจน์และพหูพจน์
he —> ใช้กับผู้ชาย 1 คน หรือ เด็กชาย 1 คน
she —> ใช้กับผู้หญิง 1 คน หรือ เด็กหญิง 1 คน
it —> ใช้กับสัตว์หรือสิ่งของ
they —> ใช้กับคน สัตว์ หรือสิ่งของที่มากกว่า 1

• OBJECT PRONOUNS

Subject pronouns	I, you, he, she, it, we, you, they
Object pronouns	me, you, him, her, it, us,  you, them

Subject pronouns – จะอยู่หน้ากริยา ทำหน้าที่เป็นประธานของประโยค
Object pronouns – จะอยู่หลังกริยาหรือบุพบท ทำหน้าที่เป็นกรรมของประโยค

• THE VERB ‘TO BE’

verb ‘to be’ จะถูกใช้เพื่อ

–  แสดงการกระทำทั่วๆ ไป และข้อเท็จจริง เช่น

Madrid is the capital of Spain.

–  แสดงความรู้สึก หรือคุณลักษณะ เช่น

I am sad.
The house is big.

–  พูดเกี่ยวกับอายุ เช่น

She is twenty.

–  พูดเกี่ยวกับสัญชาติ งาน หรือศาสนา เช่น

He is French.
He is a mechanic.
He is a Catholic.

–  แสดงราคา หรือ ขนาด (หน่วยวัด) เช่น

How much is the shirt?
The corridor is two metres long.
